Dunoon
Dunoon is a thriving family business that began producing the highest quality mugs in 1974 in Dunoon, Scotland.
The goal was to produce a range of high-quality stoneware mugs, filling a gap in the market with unique, easy-to-use, and elegantly designed mugs.
In 1982, a new factory was opened in Stone, Staffordshire, the heart of the ceramics industry. Under the leadership of Gordon, Alan, and Peter Smith, Dunoon developed a policy of collaborating with numerous designers and artists to constantly refresh its ranges with new designs and unique mug shapes in fine bone china.
Fine Bone China is an English porcelain characterized by its very high degree of whiteness and transparency, its hardness, and its high impact resistance. It is considered one of the finest and noblest porcelains.
Dunoon uses a traditional hand-pouring method to ensure thin and lightweight mugs.
The Smith family tradition in the pottery industry, which dates back over 100 years, continues with Alan's children, Harriet and Andrew, now taking over the business.
